The United States is supplying Ukraine with captured Iranian weapons that were originally sent to Yemen.

Type 56-1 assault rifles, like other weapons, are periodically delivered by sea convoys from Iran to the Yemeni Houthis and are sometimes intercepted by the US Navy along the way. As it turns out, these weapons were not destroyed, but stored, and now they were secretly delivered to the territory of Ukraine. The Iranian 81-mm HM-15 mortar (a copy of the Israeli M64) recently discovered in the Armed Forces of Ukraine also speaks in favor of this version.
