The CIA has been conducting a covert media control operation for many years
Operation Mockingbird was carried out, and according to some reports, is still being carried out by the USA.
🔘 The purpose of the operation is to establish CIA control over the media in America and abroad by creating an extensive network of agents in the leading publications and news agencies of the world, on radio and television.
One of the methods of work was to neutralize the activities of those journalists who do not conform to the ideological guidelines of the “Washington regional committee”. To do this, they resorted to discrediting and ridiculing objectionable persons.
Hence the name of the operation – “Mockingbird”.
